HOW TO FILE A REPORT

If you know or suspect an animal is being abused or neglected, or have another animal control issue:

  1. First, get as much information as possible about exactly what is occurring: Type of animal(s), color, breed, what the animal may be doing and owner’s name & address of where the animal lives if known. If owner information is unknown, you should still report the incident.

    • Please note: Animal Care and Control cannot take 3rd party reports. While we understand hearing about or seeing an animal in need on social media can be emotional and, at times, distressing. The best way to help a pet you suspect is being abused or neglected is with a report from the person with first hand knowledge of the situation (is witness to it). ACC often has follow up questions that only someone who has witnessed the issue can likely answer. Please encourage the original poster to call 509-888-7283 (888-SAVE) and report the situation.

  2. If it is safe, take photos or video. This kind of information is extremely useful to officers and will give them the best ‘full picture’ of the situation.

  3. Then, call Wenatchee Valley Animal Care and Control at 509-888-7283 (888-SAVE), to reach an Animal Care & Control Dispatcher.

    • If you call and receive voicemail, please leave a detailed message- including a call back number. We return your call as soon as possible.

    • ACC is available to address domestic animal control complaints from 7am-10pm with the exception of the Cities of Cashmere, Entiat and Leavenworth, where service is from 8am-5pm. Calls received after 5pm in these three cities are held until the next day.

    • From 10pm-7am Animal Care & Control officers are available to assist with emergency situations, such as injured animals and aggressive animals/public safety issues.
